Flashing Feet..

Flashing Feet

Topshop have recently brought out a new range of glow shoes, yes glow shoes, they have a set of rechargeable LED lights in the bottom. Okay I know it sounds a little bit like the flashing trainers you used to have as a kid but they have seemed to be a big hit in the past few months.

Some of you may have not heard of this trend at all, for certain people in the industry it sounds all a bit bizarre, but back in April/May 2014 Ashish Gupta announced that he would be creating a Holiday+Sportswear range with Topshop with a little bit of a twist. Who knew that twist would be blinding.
Creating the range with LED lights incorporated to pairs of shoes and the signature 90's translucent back pack, everyone that saw this range being launched at fashion week felt like they where 13 again raiding through charity shops and their mothers wardrobe to find the most sequined outfit that they could.

It may not be everybody's cup of tea but Ashish is well known for ripping up Tesco bags and sequined jeans to add to the trashy style, that's why he's worked so closely alongside artists like M.I.A, Lily Allen and Miley Cyrus. because he definitely works well with Trashy Glam in a tasteful way.

But anyway enough of rambling on about celebrity style, basically when Ashish brough out this collection for topshop the signature buffalo shoes (if you don't know what I mean just look at Baby Spice from the Spice Girls) but these shoes with all these beautiful LED lights on them where rather expensive £350 per pair to be exact, so obviously many folks like myself couldn't fork out the money for that, if your a lover of the lights you will be very happy to know that Topshop have brought out a range themselves but a lot less money. Already 2 of my personal friends have brought some £75 pound a pair for trainers and £85 for high tops who could be happier.

How the work is there is a small button at the side to turn the lights on and off with, and you may have thought about the fact changing batteries for flashing shoes will be a pain in the back side, don't worry all you need is a USB plug because each pair comes with their own charger, charge for 3/4 hours and you'll have flashing feet for 10! Sounds fab huh? I'm not slating but I have also read some reviews on the Ashish pairs from last year and a female said hers only worked for one day, they ended up falling apart, she brought 3 pairs in all and it was the same story for every single one. But I still think the bright lights just remind me of being a kid all over again and maybe that is what is so pleasing about them, that sheer innocence in a pair of shoes.
